BALCO has two captive Bauxite mines, both in Chhattisgarh, namely Mainpat mines in Surguja district and Bodai Daldali in Kabirdham district, for fulfilling its Bauxite requirements. The lease area of Mainpat mines is 639.169 Hectares and falls mainly in three villages, namely, Sapnadar, Kudardih and Kesra.

Bauxite of this area belongs to A and B grade and may be considered as refractory grade. It is situated in Kanker District. Kabirdham District – In the district, Bauxite is known in and around villages Bodai Daldali, Keshmarda, Rabda, Mundadadar and Samsetta.
